F.L. Schlagle High School to Launch New Stallion Surge After-School Program

The leaders of F.L. Schlagle High School are cordially inviting the community to a special ribbon-cutting ceremony to help launch its new Stallion Surge After-School Program.
The ribbon cutting will take place at 5:30 p.m., Monday, September 29, at F.L. Schlagle High School, located at 2214 N. 59th St. in KCK.
The event will feature remarks from the principal of F.L. Schlagle, the Program Director of Stallion Surge, and the Executive Directors from participating partnership organizations.
Leaders say the program will be dedicated to advancing student success through academic enrichment, STEM-focused opportunities, mentoring, and career exploration.
Additionally, program leaders have created a new hub space in the school that will serve as a highlighted feature of the program.
This hub is designed to accommodate virtual reality headset career training, an innovative way for students to explore career pathways in emerging careers through immersive, hands-on learning.
The overall goal of the program is to improve student achievement, enhance leadership skills, and empower students to prepare for future educational and career pathways.
